FieldGlass is a professional viewfinder and location-scouting tool built for film photographers and filmmakers. Open the camera, choose a format and lens, and see the real field of view of that format right on your phone — frame precisely before you ever pick up the heavy body.

CORE VIEWFINDING • Live framing simulation: field of view computed precisely from film size and focal length • Switch focal lengths instantly to compare compositions • Widescreen ratios: 1.33:1, 1.85:1, 2.39:1 matte previews, with dual framelines for simultaneous framing • Depth of field: aperture, focus distance and hyperfocal at a glance • Film simulation: real-time Kodachrome, Velvia, Portra, Tri-X and more, with adjustable strength and colour isolation • False Color exposure check: monitor-grade exposure evaluation • Reference overlay: match a storyboard or scouting photo to reset the camera position precisely • Photo and video: save framing references with full shooting parameters and an exposure record; the info bar includes a heading compass • Calibration: aim at a target of known size in the live preview to measure and correct the field of view for greater accuracy

SHOOTING PLANNER • Sun Planner: plan for your current or any location (pick on the map or search) — sunrise/sunset, golden-hour countdown, a sun/moon timeline and a light schedule • Solar share card: generate a planning card with sunrise/sunset, a compass and hourly weather in one tap, easy to share and keep • Moon data: phase, moonrise/moonset times and directions • Weather integration: hourly cloud cover and temperature (data from Apple Weather), with sunrise/sunset glow probability • Shot Map: located photos and videos shown on a map by where they were taken, to revisit any position
