Feed Your Belly Bugs helps children discover the fun of fruit and vegetables by turning healthy eating into a magical adventure inside Rumbledom, the gut. In the Food Diary, parents and children can record the fruit and vegetables eaten each day. These entries help power the action in Rumbledom, where a child’s own gang of Belly Bugs live, play and work. Inspired by real gut-health science, Feed Your Belly Bugs introduces children to the fact that fruit and vegetables help feed the tiny gut microbes living inside them. The game has a built-in tracker that lets families follow their fruit-and-veg progress over months and encourages children to keep building positive eating habits. Supported by UK Government funding, Feed Your Belly Bugs was created to help families make fruit and vegetables feel more exciting, memorable and fun. Of the Belly Bugs concept, Professor Tim Spector, co-founder of ZOE, said: “I love Belly Bugs. It’s a fun way to teach children how to eat well.”

Meet the Belly Bugs

Our Belly Bugs (gut microbes) are an awesome gang of little helpers living inside us in a magical world called Rumbledom (the gut), where everything is made from fruit and vegetables. As your child plays, they will explore Rumbledom, while learning how healthy food helps the Belly Bugs do their jobs.

In Feed Your Belly Bugs, your child can:

• choose the healthy foods they have eaten in real life using the Food Diary
• see how those healthy foods help their Belly Bugs
• match healthy food groups in fun gameplay
• unlock more of Rumbledom as they progress
• earn points and get help from their Belly Bugs

• Bashy Bug works in the Underbelly and bashes Baddies
• Happy Bug operates the Rainbowtron and keeps everyone smiling
• Flicky Bug is a martial arts expert and mathematics genius
• Cooly Bug keeps everyone relaxed by playing chilled-out tunes
• Chompy Bug is the handyman in Rumbledom and chomps up Baddies
• Goody Bug runs the Belly Deli and keeps everything organised
• Chewy Bug chews up food to keep the Magic Meadow green
• Borborygmus, or Borby, leads the gang and is the rumble in your tummy
• Geeky Bug invents the tools the Belly Bugs need
• The Buglets are the Belly Bugs’ helpers and are sometimes a bit naughty
