Gribble is a pixel art editor for drawing and animating sprites, built around real layers, blend modes, and animation tools.

DRAWING • Pixel-perfect brush, stroke stabilizer, dither brush, and a shading-ramp mode that shades along your palette instead of just lightening or darkening • Lasso, magic wand, and rectangle selections with free-transform: scale, rotate, and skew while keeping pixel edges crisp • Symmetry drawing, lock alpha, and palette lock (every stroke snaps to your active colors) • Dithered gradient tool, bucket fill, outline, line and shape tools

LAYERS & ANIMATION • Full layer stack with per-layer opacity and 15 blend modes (multiply, screen, overlay, dodge, burn, and more) • Onion skin for frame-by-frame animation • Frame tags: name a range of frames, set its loop direction (forward, reverse, ping-pong), and export just that tag • Duplicated frames share pixels until edited, so long animations stay light
