BessyConnect: VPN & Watch

BessyConnect protects your internet. One button. Here's why that matters. When you connect to Wi-Fi you don't own — a café, a hotel, an airport, a train — whoever runs that network can see what you're doing. Which sites you open, where you go. BessyConnect closes your connection so that none of it is visible from the outside.

Open the app, press the button, done. There's nothing to set up. BESSY Bessy is a husky. She's our dog, and we drew her for this app. When protection is off, she sleeps. When it's on, she sits up and watches. You can tell what state you're in without reading anything. If the connection drops, she sits down and waits until it comes back.

FROM YOUR WATCH

If you have an Apple Watch, you can turn it on from there. Not just check the status — actually connect, disconnect, and switch countries. No need to take your phone out.

WITHOUT UNLOCKING YOUR PHONE

You can put a small indicator on your Lock Screen showing whether protection is on. You can also say "Hey Siri, turn on BessyConnect," and it turns on.

Usually the easiest thing is to tap — the app looks at which server is least busy right now and connects you there. But you can pick a country yourself. Each server shows how busy it is, and you can test its speed before connecting.

IF THE CONNECTION DROPS This is the worst thing that can happen: protection falls away, you don't notice, and you keep browsing in the open.

That won't happen here. If the connection breaks, your internet simply stops working until protection comes back. A few seconds without internet is better than quietly losing your protection. You can also turn on automatic start, so the app switches itself on whenever you join Wi-Fi you haven't used before.

THE ASSISTANT There's an assistant inside the app you can ask questions in plain words. To answer, it sends your question to a server — there's no other way to get an answer. Only the question itself is sent, and it isn't connected to you or to anything else. The assistant is optional. If you never open it, nothing is sent anywhere. There's also an ordinary list of common questions and answers, and that one works without internet.

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR OWN ACCESS

Some people already have access to a server — from work, from a friend, or because they pay for one separately. You can add that access to BessyConnect and use the app with it. Our own servers stay available; you just won't be using them.

If you don't know what this is about, you don't need it. Everything works without it.

WHAT WE DON'T RECORD

We don't save which sites you open. Not anywhere, not ever.

You don't need to register: no email, no password, no phone number. The app works right after you install it. You can sign in if you want — with Apple, Google or email — but only for one reason: so your subscription follows you to a new phone.

The only thing that leaves your phone is a question to the assistant, if you use it. We say this plainly, because we'd rather not write "we collect nothing" and leave you guessing.

Every screen, icon and drawing was made for BessyConnect. Bessy exists only here. Nothing came out of a ready-made pack.

BessyConnect protects your connection. What you do online, and how that fits the laws where you live, is up to you.

SUBSCRIPTION

The app works on a subscription, billed through your Apple ID. Plans are available for 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. New users get the first [X] days free. Exact prices for your country are shown on the purchase screen in the app.

You're charged when you buy. After that the subscription renews itself at the same price unless you cancel. To cancel, go to your Apple ID settings and turn off renewal at least a day before the paid period ends. The charge happens in the last 24 hours of the period. If you cancel during the free days, the remaining free days are lost.
