Features & Capabilities

VU Meter is a professional metering app for broadcast, streaming, and live sound. It features a VU meter along with a loudness meter, phase meter, LED bar meter, and waveform display. Lay out the meters you need on screen to suit each on-site workflow. Connect any USB class-compliant device for instant measurement. Mixers, recorders, cameras, switchers — connect with a single USB cable. Use it as a portable meter for remote broadcasts and field production, or as a dedicated tool in the studio. Works on both iPhone and iPad.

What it measures: · Audio level (analog VU meter / LED bar) · Loudness (Momentary / Short-term / Integrated / True Peak / LRA) · Loudness history (graph display up to 24 hours) · Waveform (Waveform Scope, up to 30-minute history, pinch-to-zoom) · Phase (Lissajous + correlation meter)

Launch and measure. No setup required.

This app was built by a working engineer in radio, audio, and video production — for use in the field. Designed with visibility and operational reliability as the top priorities.

Use with an external audio interface. The built-in microphone is not suitable for accurate measurement.

User Reviews

Looks great, works great. Exactly what you are looking for. Would be nice to spin up a couple of these for input and output signals. Small feature request would be to allow the window to be shrunk to whatever (smaller) size. Right now, when you shrink the window too small it locks to a specific hight/width ratio. If you only have the analog vu meter, shrink the window down, the window ends up forcing to have lots of black blank space above and below the meters.
