Kids Earn Time by Learning
Block videos, games & social apps. Kids solve math to unlock screen time. Adaptive engine learns their weak spots. 100% on-device. No accounts. Subscription Required
Stop the screen time fights. Help your kid get sharper at math at the same time.
Times Up blocks the apps your kids can't put down (videos, games, social) and unlocks them only when they answer a quick math quiz. Each correct quiz buys a set window of screen time. When the timer runs out, the apps lock themselves again.
Times Up requires a paid subscription. All features described below, including app blocking, the adaptive quiz engine, and the parent dashboard, require an active Times Up Premium subscription. There is no free version.
WHY PARENTS LOVE IT
Set it up once, hand the device back. Times Up runs on your child's phone or iPad and uses Apple's built-in Screen Time controls to enforce blocks the kid can't bypass. A 4-digit PIN protects every setting, so they can't lower the difficulty, change the unlock window, or remove apps from the block list.
WHY KIDS DON'T HATE IT
Quizzes are short (you choose 3 to 10 questions) and every question is solvable mentally in under 15 seconds. No paper, no column methods, no homework feel. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, plus missing-number puzzles ("? x 8 = 56"). Earn the unlock, get back to the game. No tickets, no lectures, no nagging.
AN ADAPTIVE ENGINE THAT ACTUALLY LEARNS
Most "math apps" serve random questions. Times Up scores every problem your kid sees and weights the next quiz toward the facts they keep missing. Strong areas get spaced reinforcement so they don't slip. Weak areas (7 x 8, 15 - 9, whichever they trip on) come back more often until they stick. The engine runs entirely on the device, so questions are instant and nothing has to load.
A LADDER YOU CAN SEE
Ten tiers per operation, Tier 1 through Tier 10. Kids see the next tier on their home screen and feel the climb. Parents see the same ladder, plus accuracy trends, the exact problems their kid struggles with, and a timeline of every promotion.
PARENT DASHBOARD
PIN-gated, accessed on the child's device:
- Overall accuracy and 7-day trend
- Per-operation tier badges and 30-day stats
- "Needs Work" list of the weakest problems
- Daily activity log of every quiz
- Weekly accuracy chart per operation
- Manual difficulty adjustment per operation
- Configurable session length (3 to 10 questions) and unlock window (set in minutes)
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Times Up is built for kids first. All quiz answers, accuracy scores, and child data stay on the device. No cloud, no accounts, no child profiles in any database, no advertising IDs, and no ads shown to children, ever. COPPA-compliant in the US and aligned with GDPR-K in the UK and EU.
WORKS WITH
You pick the apps. Times Up uses Apple's app picker, so any app installed on the device, plus whole categories like Games and Social, can be added to the block list.
REQUIRES
iOS 17 or later. Apple Family Controls permission (granted on first launch). Times Up is installed on the child's device, not a separate parent device. No second Apple ID needed.
SUBSCRIPTION
Times Up Premium unlocks the full app and is offered as a weekly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Current pricing is shown in the App Store before you purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in Settings, Apple ID, Subscriptions.
