FEATURES

• End-to-end encryption Every message is encrypted individually for each recipient (Curve25519 ECDH + AES-GCM-256). Even the server operator cannot read your messages.

• One-on-one and group chats Chat 1:1 or in groups — fully encrypted. With roles (admin, moderator, member), a group photo and invitations: new members only join after approval, and when inviting you decide how much history you share.

• Images, videos & files Send photos, videos and any files right in the chat. Automatic compression, a gallery per chat and a full-screen viewer with zoom.

• Real-time games Challenge your contacts right in the chat — Backgammon, Othello and Schnake (the Snake duel), live and turn by turn.

• Face ID Secure the app with Face ID — as a replacement for your password at sign-in and optionally every time you switch back to the app.

• Real-time Messages arrive instantly. Typing indicator, online status and read receipts — all switchable in the settings at any time.

• Push notifications Never miss a message, even when the app is closed. Privacy-friendly: the content preview is optional and is decrypted exclusively on your device.

• Contacts & profile pictures Friend requests, profile pictures with a crop editor — visible only to your contacts.

• Your own server, open source Schnack runs on your own server. Full control over your data, no cloud dependency. The server is open source.
