So helpful to find where each ship was located and to follow the schedule.

*I was present for both days of the event When one steps out into Boston’s historic ports, it is easy to feel in awe. Ships from all over the globe have converged upon the shores of our proud city. It’s an amazing symbol of America’s enduring patriotism, and the power of international friendship- one that we, as Americans, should value now more than ever. The events on the ground are incredibly well-planned. Police from every town and city in the wider metropolitan area have created superbly efficient (when one gratefully understands the scale) routes for the movement of visitors. Event organizers, be they employees or volunteers, have put on a superhuman effort, diligently answering thousands of questions. I having nothing negative to say about them, in fact, I feel bad for them. I have seen them take 100s of questions by confused visitors who respond in frustration when given the answers they clamor for: “But the app said…?” The app… this app, is awful. The schedules it gives for ship visitation are incorrect. Many ships marked for visitation are not offering that experience, and the crews have clearly had to tell far too many people. Some ships marked as part of the events have, in fact, departed. Pretty quickly, people were saying “ignore the app.” When public communication about the events, locations, and everything else has been so poor and all inquiries are being siphoned to the app, one expects the app to be informative. Instead, we have a misleading mess. Unfortunately, there is only one 250th anniversary of this country, so this review cannot do anything to positively impact this app. I just hope that the makers of this app (or whoever is in charge of updating it) is forced to change their procedures for the sake of competency. If they cannot do so, I don’t think they are worth the time of the community, or any community.
