Features & Capabilities

Every feature, free. Point at a surface and tap. LiDAR ranging and ProRAW sensor data measure what colour it actually is — HEX, RGB, LAB and ambient colour temperature.

Picking a colour from a photo doesn't give you the colour.

Ordinary colour-picker apps read pixels from the screen preview — a value already rewritten by auto white balance, auto exposure and JPEG compression. What you see is the colour your camera decided to show you, not the colour of the wall.

DecoLens takes a different path. It uses the iPhone as a colour meter, built for measuring colour on site and making material decisions. From wall paint to wood, fabric and stone, get stable, repeatable colour readings instead of trusting your eyes.

■ How it measures

・White balance, exposure and focus are force-locked at the moment of capture ・ProRAW sensor data, with no compression or colour rendering in between ・LiDAR reports distance live and blocks the capture when you're too close or too far ・Capture is rejected outright on specular glare, or on a surface too textured to trust — better no number than a number you can't rely on

■ Gray card calibration

Under warm tungsten light, a white wall looks beige. Tap once on a gray card and DecoLens measures the true colour temperature of the room, then corrects every reading against it. Studio practice, on a job site.

■ Material compensation

Paint, wood, fabric and stone respond to light in completely different ways. Pick the material and DecoLens applies the matching compensation.

■ What you get

・HEX, RGB and LAB values ・Ambient colour temperature and LiDAR distance ・Sample variance — so you know whether to trust the reading ・Colour library: save every measurement with notes and tags ・Material ID card: export a reading as an image, so everyone on site is looking at the same thing

■ Hardware

iPhone 11 and later run the full measurement flow. iPhones with LiDAR and ProRAW (Pro / Pro Max) automatically enable the high-precision capture pipeline.

■ Everything is free right now

DecoLens is early. We want to find out whether it's genuinely useful to people doing this work before we talk about charging for it. Every feature — gray card calibration, manual Kelvin, LAB data, multi-material measurement — is unlocked.

If you're a designer, a painter, or anyone who needs to carry a colour away exactly, we'd like to hear from you.

■ Privacy

Colour measurement runs primarily on device. We use analytics to improve the product, and you can turn analytics tracking off inside the app.
