Features & Capabilities

Discover beautiful, traffic-free cycling routes across London and the UK. Curated ride journals, maps & directions — for cyclists who love roads without cars.

Cycling is better without cars. Where My Wheels Go is a curated guide to beautiful, traffic-free cycling routes across London. London can be a challenging city to cycle - but it does not have to be. Where My Wheels Go- London is built for riders who want to experience the capital differently; quieter, greener and calmer.

Every route in the app has been personally ridden, researched and written. This isn't a database of crowdsourced tracks or a sat-nav with a cycling mode. It's something closer to having a knowledgeable friend in your ear — one who knows the canal paths, the ancient ways, the quiet back roads, and the history buried beneath your wheels.

Ride with your ears open — or not

A full audio commentary is available for every route. As you ride, the app can speak the route notes aloud — guiding you through turns, flagging hazards ahead, pointing out what to look for, and sharing the history of the places you pass through. No need to glance at your screen. Just ride and listen.

Prefer the sound of birdsong and your own thoughts? Simply keep the audio off and follow the written notes at your own pace. The choice is entirely yours, and you can switch between the two at any point during a ride.

What's inside

Each route comes with everything you need before you set off and everything that makes the ride worth taking:

— Detailed turn-by-turn route notes, written to be read or listened to on the road — Hazard alerts: road surfaces to watch for, tricky junctions, gates, and seasonal conditions — Points of interest: hidden architecture, remarkable viewpoints, local landmarks, and the spots most cyclists miss — Historical context: the stories behind the places you pass through — industrial waterways, royal parks, wartime infrastructure and more — Distance, terrain type, and surface notes so you can choose the right bike — Reflective ride journals that bring routes to life before you've even left home

London — the city from the saddle

The app covers the capital's finest traffic-free cycling across four collections: Woods and Waterways, The Capital and its People, Gardens Parks and Palaces, and Gravel Mud and Trails. Canal towpaths, riverside paths, woodland trails, parkland routes, and the quieter back roads that thread through London's greener, lesser-known corners. From short half-day rides to full-day explorations across the city, there's riding here for every level.

London rewards the curious cyclist. Scratch beneath its surface and you'll find a city with layers — medieval settlements swallowed by suburbs, lost rivers running beneath the streets, grand estates that once belonged to kings, and industrial waterfronts transformed beyond recognition. The app puts all of that in context as you ride.

Suitable for

Road bikes, gravel bikes, hybrid bikes, and mountain bikes — routes are clearly labelled by surface type so you always know what to expect underwheel. Family-friendly and easier rides are included alongside longer, more challenging days in the saddle.

All routes are ridden and described in good faith. Conditions on the ground can change. Riders use all routes at their own risk
