The database spans green (25), black (20), oolong (20), white (10), pu-erh (10), yellow (5), herbal (20), and matcha/specialty (10) teas. Each entry contains origin with country and region, harvest season, caffeine level with approximate milligrams per cup, and a price range indicator.

Brewing parameters are provided for two methods. Western brewing lists temperature range, steep time range, and leaf-to-water ratio for a standard cup. Gongfu brewing lists temperature, initial steep time, leaf ratio for a small vessel, and number of recommended infusions. Cold brew ratios are also included where applicable.

Flavor is described through tags drawn from a 50-descriptor vocabulary organized into six categories: vegetal, floral, fruity, nutty/toasty, earthy, and sweet. Each tea also lists body level, liquor color, leaf appearance, historical background, and health benefit notes.

The brew calculator accepts a tea selection, brew method, and vessel size. It outputs leaf weight in grams, water temperature, and steep duration. For gongfu, it generates a full infusion progression with incrementing times across all steeps.

The steep timer fills a visual teacup as time elapses, with the liquid darkening to represent increasing strength. Gongfu mode tracks multiple infusions with automatic progression to the next steep. Haptic and notification alerts on completion.

The water temperature guide maps tea types to their optimal ranges on a visual spectrum from 60°C to 100°C, with practical wait-time estimates for users without a thermometer.

The comparison tool places two teas on a radar chart across six axes — temperature, steep time, caffeine, body, infusions, and price — with a detailed value table below.

The tasting journal records individual sessions with tea, date, star rating, selected flavor tags, aroma and body scores, finish length, notes, and an optional photo. Entries display on a chronological timeline.

The collection tracker maintains owned teas and a wishlist, with per-type progress indicators showing how many of each category have been tried.

A flavor wheel organizes all 50+ descriptors into an interactive circular diagram, filterable to show teas matching any selected flavor.

A tea glossary defines 30+ terms from gaiwan and gongfu to oxidation levels and pekoe grading.
