HOW TO PLAY German Whist is played over two phases with a standard 52-card deck. In Phase 1, you and your opponent trade tricks to build the strongest possible hand — the winner of each trick claims the face-up stock card, while the loser draws blind. Every decision matters: do you fight for that Ace of trumps, or let it go and keep your strategy hidden? Once the stock is exhausted, Phase 2 begins — and this is where the real battle plays out. All 13 tricks count toward your score. Win more tricks than your opponent and you pocket the difference as match points. First player to 21 wins the match.
