Features & Capabilities

MathéA is a full-featured scientific calculator built from the ground up for accessibility. Designed with VoiceOver in mind, every result is not only displayed as beautifully rendered mathematics but also spoken aloud in natural language - so nothing is lost between the screen and the user.

SPOKEN MATHEMATICS

Every calculation produces a spoken description in natural language. Results are read in English, French, and German, covering fractions, roots, powers, integrals, and more - exactly as a teacher would say them.

DISPLAY FORMATS

Results appear as rendered mathematics: exact fractions, square roots, pi-forms, scientific notation, mixed numbers, prime factorisation, and degrees-minutes-seconds. Toggle between exact and decimal form instantly.

WHAT MATHEA CAN CALCULATE

• Arithmetic: fractions, powers, roots, factorials, percentages, GCD, LCM, integer division with remainder, powers of 10 entry • Functions: sin, cos, tan and inverses; log, ln, log base n; 10^x, e^x; square root, cube root; nPr, nCr; Abs, integer part, rounding; random number, random integer • Calculus: definite integral, derivative, summation, product • Complex numbers: full arithmetic, magnitude, argument, real and imaginary parts, conjugate; rectangular and polar display • Base-N: binary, octal, decimal, hexadecimal; bitwise NOT, AND, OR, XOR, shift • Matrices: up to 4x4; addition, subtraction, multiplication, scalar multiplication, transpose, determinant, inverse • Equation solver: simultaneous linear equations (2x2, 3x3, 4x4) • Polynomial solver: quadratic and cubic equations • Inequality solver: linear and quadratic inequalities • Statistics: one-variable and two-variable analysis; 8 regression models (linear, quadratic, cubic, quartic, logarithmic, exponential, power, sine) • Distributions: normal, binomial, Poisson - probability density, cumulative distribution, and inverse • Function table: evaluate f(x) and g(x) over any range with any step size • Ratio solver: A:B = X:D or A:B = C:X • Verify mode: evaluate relational expressions (equal, not equal, less, greater, etc.) to True or False • Coordinate conversion: polar to rectangular and back • Angle units: degrees, radians, gradians with inline suffixes

MEMORY AND USER FUNCTIONS

Store values in variables A through F, x, y, z. Access the last two results via Ans and PreAns. Define custom functions f(x) and g(x) and reuse them anywhere.

ACCESSIBILITY FIRST

• Fully optimised for VoiceOver • All results spoken in English, French, and German • MathJax accessibility explorer for step-by-step navigation of complex expressions • ARIA live regions for instant result announcements • Large 48pt touch targets • Full keyboard and switch access support

EXAM MODE

One tap clears all memory, disables history and persistence, and restricts features to comply with examination regulations - no graphs, no symbolic algebra, no text storage, no network access.

COMPLETELY OFFLINE

All assets are bundled locally. No internet connection is ever required. No data leaves the device.

INTERFACE

Available in English, French, and German. Includes a searchable examples catalogue (75 entries across 15 categories) and a full user manual.
