Plane Radar & Airport Boards
New: your widget now watches the sky. See what is flying over your home, how far away it is and which way to look up. Free, no ads, no account needed.
Ever look up at a plane and wonder where it's going? Contrail tells you -- instantly. Open the app, and every aircraft in the sky appears on your map, moving in real time at 30 frames per second.
Contrail is the flight tracker built for curiosity. No account needed. No ads. No subscription required. Just a beautiful, fast map showing thousands of flights around the world -- powered by the global ADS-B community network.
LIVE MAP
See aircraft moving smoothly across a live map. Tap any plane to see its callsign, airline, route, altitude, speed, and aircraft type. Zoom in to see callsign labels appear. Zoom out to see continental traffic. Color-coded markers show you what every plane is doing at a glance: green for climbing, orange for descending, yellow for cruising, and white for ground.
FLIGHT DETAIL
Tap any aircraft for the full picture: airline and flight number, departure and arrival airports, aircraft type and registration, altitude, speed, heading, and vertical rate. See a real photo of the actual aircraft. Follow the flight track on the map with smooth animation.
HOME SCREEN WIDGET
Your next flight on the Home Screen, with the gate, departure and arrival in airport time. And when you have no trip booked, the same widget watches the sky instead: give it a place and it shows what is flying over it -- callsign, route, how far away, which way to turn, and how high to look. Free.
LIVE ACTIVITY
The flight you are on, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. A progress bar that starts at actual pushback, your gate, and the arrival time -- kept current by push while the app is closed. Pro.
MY FLIGHTS
Track flights you care about -- a friend's flight, your business trip, a pickup from the airport. Live position, ETA, gate, and weather at both airports. Pro users get push alerts on gate changes, delays, landings, and baggage.
MY PASSPORT -- FLIGHT LOGBOOK
Track every flight you take. Your flights are saved as a personal logbook -- your aviation passport. See stats on your travel history: total flights, distance, top airlines and airports. iCloud sync across devices.
AIRPORT BOARDS (FIDS)
Check departures and arrivals at any airport, just like the boards in the terminal. See scheduled times, actual times, gates, and status for every flight. Tap any flight on the board to see its full detail.
DISCOVER NOTABLE AIRCRAFT
Browse what's airborne now: military, government, celebrity jets, and historic warbirds. Live emergency squawks (7500/7600/7700) shown across the world.
FLEET FILTER
Want to see every plane from one airline? Use the fleet filter to highlight all aircraft from any operator on the map. Perfect for spotting your favorite airline.
DESIGNED FOR SPOTTERS
Whether you're an aviation enthusiast watching traffic from your balcony, a traveler checking if your flight is on time, or just curious about that plane overhead -- Contrail is built for you. The app is privacy-first with no tracking or data collection.
CONTRAIL PRO (optional)
Track any aircraft registration with Pro tail watchlist push -- get a notification the moment your favourite tail takes off, anywhere in the world. Plus My Flights push alerts, UK Military Airspace overlay, OSINT Activity Corridors, Global SIGMET aviation weather, and Flight Cinema 3D replays. Free features stay free.
