WortMauMau

Wortmaumau is a lively German reading game for iPhone and iPad. Children play MauMau with words instead of numbers: cards match when they share a vowel or an initial letter.

Every round creates real reading moments without quizzes, pressure, or a worksheet feeling. To play a card, children read the word, notice the vowel, check the first letter, and stay inside the game.

WHAT WORTMAUMAU OFFERS

• Word MauMau: Classic MauMau with German words, jokers, skip cards, draw-2 cards, and friendly bot opponents.

• Vowel colors: A, E, I, O, and U each have their own color. This supports early recognition and can fade into the background as confidence grows.

• Reading Fox: A friendly companion who motivates, gives hints, and makes small wins visible.

• Word Collection and Word Galaxy: Read words remain visible. Children can see their vocabulary grow.

• Word packs: Start for free, then unlock the complete Wortmaumau package. It includes play worlds, schoolbook-style words, targeted practice sets, and adult word sets.

WORDS AND PACKS

The app currently includes more than 560 curated German words across 26 sets. The public offer is intentionally simple: start for free, then unlock one complete package. Children see child-friendly play and school word sets. Adult sets appear only in Adult Mode and are not a separate purchase.

SPEECH AND AI

The core game works without a microphone and without Apple Intelligence. Read-aloud and speech-recognition exercises use Apple speech features when they are available for the device, iOS version, language, and permissions. Where Apple supports local recognition, the app prefers it. On older devices, some speech features may be limited.

The extended AI Fox is not required for the core game. It is an optional parent-area/test path and is not needed to play Wortmaumau.

PRIVACY

No ads, no public profiles, no social feed. Learning progress is stored locally unless an optional export, cloud, or AI feature is actively enabled. The app does not store speech recordings as audio files.
