Cao Cao is at Guandu. Xian is stuck in Xuchang. You trade: buy cheap, sell dear. Gifts or bandits. The money is to get him out. Keep quiet.

You trade for Emperor Xian.

It’s 200 CE. Cao Cao has gone to fight at Guandu. His people in Xuchang have not. The emperor can’t leave, so he puts you on buying and selling: grain, wine, cloth, silk, horses. Move goods toward the better price. You start with Xuchang, Chang’an, and Ye. Jianye, Chaisang, Xiliang, Beiping, Chengdu, and Yunnan open later. One deal per ten-day stretch. Wait, and the price is different.

You can run salt on the side. No private troops, and a patrol ends the shipment. Travelers sometimes hand you something. Bandits sometimes take everything. Five chapters. The targets get tighter. Fail, start the chapter again. How chapter five ends depends on the gold, troops, grain, and horses you actually kept. Finish well and you can file it in History.
