Preserve the photos. Keep the family story. Nostalgia is a quiet place to scan a print, gently restore what time wore away, and keep the original safe beside it. Add the names you know, then send a photo to someone who'll know the rest — they can answer without downloading anything. Your archive stays private. We never train on your photos unless you ask us to.

SCAN A FEW PHOTOS AT A TIME Use guided phone capture or import from your photo library. Review album-page splits before saving. For flatbed scans, continue in Scan Station on the web: import a whole-bed file, review individual photos, and return to the same album later. Direct flatbed scanning is a separate Mac capability; mobile and web do not include desktop scanner drivers.

REVIEW BEFORE YOU KEEP Compare your scan with a restoration result. Try repairs for fading, scratches or damaged detail, and choose colorization only if you want it. AI can invent details or make mistakes. Keep the Source when a result does not feel faithful.

KEEP THE RECORD TOGETHER Accepted Source versions and saved restoration results remain separate. Choose your main scan and restoration independently. Review possible duplicates, organize Albums, and add names, dates, places and notes. Keep your own backup of important family photographs.

ASK THE FAMILY Share a private photo link and ask who, where or when. Relatives can answer without installing the app or creating an account. Review their answers before adding them to your Archive.

MAKE ROOM FOR FAMILY STORIES Find people across your collection and keep their stories with the photos. Invite relatives into a Family Vault. Free accounts include one Vault with up to 50 photos and 5 members; the Family plan supports larger collections and additional Vaults.

CHOOSE THE NEXT STEP Photo Insight uses Nostalgia's own analysis systems to check uploaded photos and suggest next steps. Optional AI help can draft captions, stories or date estimates for you to review and edit.

AI PROCESSING IS OPT-IN Third-party AI features, including restoration and optional text help, ask permission before sending photo data for processing. Your uploads and restoration results are not used for AI model training as part of the standard service. Any future training program would require separate, explicit opt-in.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Your Archive stays private until you choose to share. Your photos are never sold or shared for advertising. You keep ownership of your photos. Online features require an account and may have plan limits.
