Wildspotters brings you real video footage captured by wildlife cameras placed at nature spots and wildlife tunnels across the Netherlands. Your job? Watch the clip and identify the animal you see from a list of species.

Wildlife tunnels are underground passages built beneath busy roads so animals can safely cross from one habitat to another. Most people never see them in action — but Wildspotters changes that. This initiative, supported by Dutch municipalities, makes the hidden world of urban wildlife visible to everyone and shows just how important these tunnels are for local biodiversity.

HOW IT WORKS • Browse short video clips from wildlife cameras across the Netherlands • Select the species you think appears in each video • Once a video receives enough identifications from the community, the most-voted species is confirmed • Confirmed sightings are added to the species archive, where you can explore all identified videos by animal

Every identification you make contributes to real citizen science data — helping researchers and city planners understand which animals use these tunnels and where.
