Hours-Based: Divide the pool proportionally by hours worked. A bartender who worked 8 hours gets twice the share of someone who worked 4. Perfect for shifts where staff arrive and leave at different times.

Points-Based: Assign point values by role. Give servers 10 points, bussers 5, and barbacks 3. The pool divides according to the weight of each position. Great for restaurants that use a point system for gratuity pooling.
