Temper: Your Chocolate Journal

This is such a helpful app! I had been writing my tasting notes on slips of paper but they are harder to keep track of and aren’t always handy. This app makes tracking chocolates super easy and is always close at hand. I love the new flavor wheel and the community component to get ideas from others. The map and calendar are nice additions though I haven’t used them as much.

I LOVE artisan chocolate. Whether I’m enjoying a bar myself or hosting chocolate tastings with family and friends, this app makes it so easy to keep track of everything I’ve tried. I can finally organize my notes and rankings for each bar in one place—which is saying something, because I’ve tried hundreds of them over the years. Before this app, I actually kept the wrappers from every bar so I could write my tasting notes and rankings on them. At one point I had a massive stash of empty chocolate wrappers in my closet just to keep track of everything (my husband is very happy that part of the hobby is now gone!). Now I can record all my thoughts in the app and throw the wrappers away. One of my favorite features is how easy it is to search the bars I’ve rated on my profile. I can filter by brand, region, tasting notes, or chocolate percentage, which makes it incredibly simple to put together a well-rounded chocolate tasting for friends. If you love craft chocolate or enjoy hosting tastings, this app is such a fun and useful tool.
