HYDE & SEEK

HYDE is a real life hide and seek game with collectable goodies. Teams compete in a game boundary anywhere in the world. Hyders only reveal their position periodically.

After downloading the app, users can search for public games near them or create their own public or private game. Once enough players have signed up for a game, they meet at a set location to join a game. When all players have joined the virtual lobby, they are devided into two teams of runners and seekers and make their way to their starting locations. Once the game starts, the seekers try to catch all runners before the game clock runs out. To do so, they use the game map, to follow the runers GPS tracks. The challenge for seekers: Runners only reveal their position periodically and stay hidden the rest of the time. So to catch them, cooperation between seekers is needed. If seekers manage to capture all runners, they win. During the game, players can collect goodies in the map to change the game flow to their advantage. Extend or shrink the game area, add or subtract time from the game clock or stay invisible to your opponents for a while. If a runner manages to stay uncaught until the time runs out, they win. During the game, teams can communicate via a walkie-talkie function or via chat to coordinate. Once the game is over, the players can receive praise from other players and see the routes every player has taken throughout the game. After the game ends all players can communicate via walkie-talkie or chat and meet at the defined post-game meeting point.
