ReadThru turns your phone into a portable script recording studio. Record every character's lines as individual audio snippets, arrange them into scenes, and play back a complete read-through — all without an internet connection.

Each line is captured separately with a simple press-and-hold gesture, tagged to a specific character, and placed in the scene timeline instantly. No menus, no file naming. Hold a character's button, speak, release. The snippet exists in context immediately.

Mute any character during playback and their lines play as silence — you speak into the gaps. It's like having a scene partner who never loses their place, available whenever you want to practise.

RECORD LINE BY LINE Hold a character's colour-coded button to start recording. Release to stop. Each recording becomes a snippet in your scene timeline, ready to play back in sequence. Record as many takes as you need — re-record any snippet without losing the rest.

ORGANISE BY CHARACTER AND SCENE Create characters with names, colours and photos. Group dialogue into scenes. Assign characters to each scene and build up a full script recording one snippet at a time. Drag snippets to reorder them. Add stage directions, media files, and text notes directly into the timeline.

REHEARSE YOUR WAY Mute individual characters so their lines play as silence while you fill in the gaps. Adjust the pause between lines to give yourself more or less time. Change playback speed from 0.75x to 1.5x. Use feed mode to isolate just your cues and your lines — long-press your character and playback skips straight to what matters.

EDIT WITHOUT STARTING OVER Tap any snippet to trim the start and end, adjust its volume, re-record it in place, or delete it. Drag to reorder. Fine-tune individual character volumes so the mix sounds right. Every action gives haptic feedback so the app feels responsive and tactile.

SHAPE EACH CHARACTER'S VOICE Give characters unique voice effects with pitch shifting, three-band EQ, reverb, delay, distortion, stereo panning, tremolo and vibrato. Choose from 12 presets like Radio Voice, Robot, Theatre Hall and Whisper, or fine-tune every parameter yourself. Preview effects in real time against recorded lines.

PROJECT-WIDE PLAYBACK Play through every scene in a project back to back. Mute characters, enter feed mode, and rehearse across the full script without switching between scenes.

EXPORT AND SHARE Save a project as a .readthru file containing all audio, characters, scenes and photos. Share it via email, messaging apps, or cloud storage. Import on another device and the whole project rebuilds exactly as it was. Keep backups of important recordings.

FULLY OFFLINE No accounts, no servers, no internet required. Everything lives on your device in a local database. ReadThru works in a rehearsal room with no signal, on a train, or anywhere else you want to practise.
