Karikōrero

Karikorero is a simple flashcard app for learning Te Reo Māori vocabulary.

A card shows you a Māori word with audio pronunciation. Two English translations appear below: one correct, one not. Swipe toward the right answer or tap it. That's it. No accounts, no loot crates, no notifications, no ads. Just words.

There are about 250 curated words covering greetings, family, numbers, colours, nature, food, body parts, days of the week, directions, common verbs, and more. Each word has audio pronunciation generated from a Māori text-to-speech model.

A few things you can do:

• Swipe or tap to answer
• Listen to pronunciation and replay it
• Turn on Listening Mode to hide the written word and practice by ear
• Track your accuracy and streaks over time in settings
• Mute sounds if you're on the bus

I built this because I wanted a quick way to build and test my Te Reo vocabulary during spare moments. I hope it's useful for you too.
