Prayer Mentions reminds you about a few of the people on your list each day, alongside a verse or a phrase to carry into your prayers. There is no way to fall behind here, no guilt trips and no condemnation.

HOW A DAY WORKS

You keep a list of people you'd like to pray for. Each day the app brings a few of them forward, along with any prayer requests active that day, and reminds you at the times you choose. Alongside them sits your meditation, on the Today tab and in the home-screen widget.

That's the whole loop. Everything else is a setting on one of those three things.

FIVE WAYS TO CHOOSE WHO COMES UP

• Monthly Coverage — every person gets scheduled once a month, spread evenly. This is the default. • Daily Rotation — everyone gets a turn in a fixed order, however many a day you pick. • Daily Random — whoever has waited longest comes up first, with chance breaking ties. • Monthly Letter Calendar — people are grouped by the first letter of their name, one letter per day. • Weekly Letter Schedule — people are grouped by the first letter of their name, a few letters each day.

MEDITATIONS

Write a verse, a sentence, or a phrase each day, or let the app bring one back. Four behaviors: revisit your history at random or in order, keep one until you replace it, or start fresh each morning.

Seventy-five meditations come included with the app, so there is something to carry into your prayers on the first day. They sit alongside the ones you write, and one switch turns the collection off.

REMINDERS

A single notification at a time you pick, listing everyone on today's list together — or a separate one for each person and each active request, scattered through a window you set.

There are no buttons on a reminder, no badge on the app icon, and no number anywhere. A reminder is an invitation, not a task with a state.

Tapping one opens that person, with their notes and your meditation — and a message you can send to let them know they were on your mind.

NOTHING TO FALL BEHIND ON

You won't find a way to mark someone as prayed for, and there is no plan to add one. No streaks, no completion counts, no badge on the app icon, no "days since" anywhere.

An unopened reminder isn't an unfinished task. It was a mention that didn't happen today, and today is not a score.

The app does quietly notice who hasn't come up in a while, and uses that to even things out. It keeps track of who's overdue so you don't have to.

BEYOND THE APP

• Widget — your current meditation on the Home Screen, Lock Screen, and StandBy. • Siri and Shortcuts — eight phrases. Ask for your meditation, set a new one, hear today's list, or add a person or a request. • Spotlight — search a name from the Home Screen and open their page. Only names are indexed, never your notes or meditations. • Control Center — a control that opens your list, also for the Lock Screen or the Action button. • Share Sheet — send a verse from Messages, Safari, Notes, or your Bible app.

YOUR DATA

Everything is stored on your device. On iOS 18 or later it also syncs through your own private iCloud account. There is no account to create, and nothing you write is sent to us.

People and requests, meditations, and settings each sync separately, and each can be turned off. The app saves a snapshot of everything about once a day and can restore any of them. Your meditations export as dated plain text whenever you want them.

It was built by a former pastor of nearly two decades who kept failing at long lists and elaborate systems, and finally wrote down the rotation that stuck. Not sessions. Not completions. Not prayers logged. Mentions. It is a deliberately low bar, and the whole app is built to keep it low.
