User Reviews
After trying the free version the app looked like it had exactly what I was looking for so I bought the full version. That’s when things went wonky. Most of the 8,000+ paints in the database disappeared. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and everything seemed to have come back so I started adding my paint collection.
Took a break and came back to finish adding my paints and now most of the paints in the database disappeared again, the “Discover” section shows 1,534 paints across 14 brands. Of my 86 Warpaints Fanatic paints I was only able to add 61 to my collection. The other 25 weren’t found in the database.
Very disappointing for a paid app.
Update 1: After reinstalling the app and opening it for the first time the whole database of available paints is restored. As long as you don’t close the app completely the 8,000+ available paints are there; close it and you’re back to the 1,534.
Another frustrating thing is if you do uninstall the app all paints saved to My Rack, Wish List, and Palettes are also deleted. There is a way to export collection but I don’t see any way to import it so you’re stuck reentering everything manually.
The barcode scan doesn’t work. It reads and displays the barcode but the results area just says nothing found. Additionally, if you go to the Scan section the camera turns on but if you go to a different screen it doesn’t turn off. If you leave the app running but switch to a different app or go to the phone’s Home Screen the camera shuts off. Going back into MiniMatch turns the camera back on. To reset the camera so it isn’t on you have to completely close MiniMatch.
After the initial setup where you pick the paint brands you use there is no way to change this selection.
