Good Things, Happening Locally
GOOD LOCAL - GOOD THINGS, HAPPENING LOCALLY
Good Local is a positive local noticeboard where neighbours and local businesses share Notes, offer help, ask for advice, recommend places and start things worth joining.
It isn't built to keep you scrolling or replace your local community. It's a simple tool that helps people nearby find one another and turn good intentions into something real.
LESS SCROLLING. MORE DOING.
A Note is an invitation, not just an update.
Depending on what someone shares, neighbours can respond with meaningful actions e.g.:
• I will join
• I support this
... and more
Join a nearby activity, help someone with a project, try a local recommendation, share useful knowledge or simply notice something good happening around you.
SHARE WHAT'S USEFUL LOCALLY
Create a Note to:
• Recommend a local place
• Ask neighbours for advice
• Offer practical help
• Invite people to an activity
• Give away something useful
• Thank someone
• Share a positive local moment
DISCOVER YOUR COMMUNITY
See what people nearby are sharing and find something worth trying, joining or supporting.
Good Local puts the Note first. Author names aren't displayed on the noticeboard, helping people respond to the value of the content rather than the popularity of the person behind it.
BUSINESSES ARE NEIGHBOURS TOO
Local businesses can participate like other members.
They can create Notes, introduce their team, show how something is made, share useful local knowledge, answer questions and help with something nearby.
Businesses cannot buy attention through advertisements, paid boosts or promoted listings. Recognition comes through genuine local participation and community support.
A LITTLE EXTRA, SOMETIMES
Some Notes may unlock a Goodie-a small perk offered by a local business, such as a coffee, discount or small gift.
Goodies are an optional bonus for positive local contribution. They are never the reason a Note matters, and businesses don't need to offer Goodies to participate.
FOR SCHOOLS, COUNCILS AND COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS
Schools, councils, charities and community groups can share local initiatives, invite people to activities, ask for help or ideas and recognise positive contributions.
Because Notes are shared with the relevant local community, nearby residents and businesses can respond, participate or offer support.
Good Local complements existing communication channels by helping turn local announcements into local action.
WHY GOOD LOCAL IS DIFFERENT
• No likes or follower counts
• No advertisements or paid reach
• Positive and useful by design
• Local people and content come first
• Built for real-world participation
• Free for local members and businesses
Good Local has no advertising incentive to keep you looking at a screen. We consider it successful when neighbours connect, communities grow stronger, and local people and businesses benefit.
Just good local moments.
