HOW IT WORKS

1. See the footprint Click the CarbonGuru button — or select text — wherever you shop, read, or work. AI identifies what you bought; established environmental science (EIO — Environmentally-Extended Input-Output analysis) calculates the footprint across the full lifecycle: raw materials, manufacturing, packaging, shipping, and delivery. Every estimate is the cumulative footprint up to the point the item is in your hands.

2. Understand the impact Results are reported in kg CO₂e — the internationally recognized measure — alongside a real-world climate-impact cost in dollars (based on the Social Cost of Carbon) and relatable comparisons that make the number meaningful without expertise. Works in nearly 120 languages, with models covering over 140 countries.
