A companion app for the SmartRow rowing sensor. Connect via Bluetooth to see real-time rowing metrics, force curves, and power data on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac. Available in English, German, French, and Spanish.

SR Companion is an independent, third-party companion app for the SmartRow rowing sensor — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or developed in cooperation with SmartRow or Ergometer Innovations B.V.

REAL-TIME WORKOUT DATA

• Pace, average pace, speed, stroke rate, calories, and calories per hour — updated every stroke
• Tap any metric section to collapse it for a streamlined view — your layout is remembered
• Odometer-style stroke count and distance displays with smooth rolling digits
• Drive phase sweep animation on stroke length shows your stroke rhythm in real time

LIVE FORCE CURVE

• See your drive force profile as you row
• Smooth morphing between strokes for fluid visual transitions
• Optional previous-stroke overlay for technique comparison
• Peak force and work-per-stroke tracking

STROKE SCORE — TECHNIQUE FEEDBACK

• Every stroke is scored 1–10 on Timing (peak position) and Shape (match and smoothness), color-coded red/orange/yellow/green
• Reference curve follows the "Grinko style" described by Dr. Valery Kleshnev — strong leg-drive and an early peak
• Target curve is dynamic: it adapts each stroke to your current rate and peak force
• In-app info screen explains the methodology and cites the sources

POWER GRAPH

• Track power output across your session stroke by stroke
• Average power reference line with optional tolerance band
• Power consistency feedback shows percentage deviation when you drift outside your target range
• Rolling window mode to focus on recent strokes

HEART RATE ZONES

• 5-zone heart rate model from Recovery (Z1) through Max (Z5)
• Zone-colored display with animated progress ring showing percentage of max HR
• Configurable max HR: automatic from HealthKit age or manual entry
• Two formulas: Classic (220-age) and Tanaka (208-0.7x age)

APPLE WATCH COMPANION

• Use your Apple Watch as a heart rate monitor during workouts
• Auto-launches and streams HR as soon as you open the iPhone app

BLUETOOTH HEART RATE MONITOR

• Pair any Bluetooth LE heart rate strap as an alternative to Apple Watch
• Heart rate displayed during workouts with zone coloring and percentage of max
• HR data included in all exports

PEAK TRACKING

• Peak power, peak work, and peak pace highlighted with a flash when you set new session highs
• Configurable steady-state holdoff suppresses alerts during your first strokes

AUDIO FEEDBACK

• Configurable chimes for distance milestones, new peak achievements, and power consistency threshold crossings
• Full-screen flash at configurable distance intervals

FTMS BROADCAST

• Rebroadcast your rowing data as an FTMS fitness machine over Bluetooth
• Third-party apps like CityRow, Kinomap, Regatta, and ErgZone can connect to receive your metrics in real time
