Porokartta is a GPS tracking app designed for reindeer herding across the Nordic region. Follow your herd on the map even in remote areas — with or without an internet connection.

RELIABLE TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS

Use detailed topographic maps and download the areas you need in advance for offline use. Automatic clustering keeps the map clear even when you have many tracking devices.

TRACKING, ROUTES, AND HISTORY

See tracker locations, travel directions, and saved routes on the map. Review the herd’s movement over a selected period and move along the timeline to any point in time.

Measure the distance from your own position or a tracker to any point on the map.

GEOFENCES

Draw permitted areas on the map to monitor the herd. Porokartta alerts you when a tracker moves outside a defined area.

ALERTS

An inactivity alert lets you know when an animal stops moving. You can also receive alerts about geofence crossings, battery level, and temperature. Push notifications arrive directly on your phone, and alerts can be reviewed and acknowledged in the app.

SHARE YOUR LOCATION

Share your own GPS position with other users in real time and see their positions on the map. You can start and stop sharing at any time.

MANAGE LOCATION UPDATES

Change the location update interval for one or more trackers directly in the app. Choose Eco mode to reduce battery consumption or Reliable mode to prioritize successful updates.

SHARED MONITORING

Share devices using invitation codes and create groups for joint monitoring. Choose which group devices and alerts appear in the app.

DESIGNED FOR FIELD USE

Customize the map for the conditions and your way of working. Choose a light, dark, or night-vision-friendly theme, adjust terrain shading, select different marker sizes, and use multiple coordinate formats.

PRIVACY

Porokartta contains no advertising or advertising tracking. You decide when to share your location with other users.

SUPPORTED DEVICES

Porokartta works with Yabby3, Oyster3, AT101, and Spuro-X tracking devices on supported LoRaWAN networks.
