User Reviews

this is gonna be a long review because i like this kind of app but there’s zero reviews on the app store and this seems like a good faith attempt rather than a cheap cash grab, so i want to give proper feedback to help the developer if they choose to work more on it. on the learn page it tells you to “tap a letter to learn” but if you do that it just adds a check to the letter marking it as complete even though you didn’t learn anything, and you can’t remove the check. a box pops up at the top of the screen so clearly there is some information there but it’s cut off and i can’t read it or scroll down. i also think the audio for the letter should play automatically when you click it. the writing practice doesn’t tell you how to write it and isn’t designed to detect what you’re doing so you can literally draw any lines and be marked as correct. i think it would be more helpful to see the typed version of the letter at the top but have the guide be based on a handwritten version. even if the app still can’t detect what kind of lines you’re drawing, marking each line with numbers and tracing a handwritten letter rather than a typed one would be a huge improvement. it could also benefit from an easier way to choose which letters you practice than flipping through all 47, especially since it moves on immediately when it decides you’re “correct” so there’s no time to absorb it. perhaps even a way to mark how well you think you know them so you can isolate and practice only the ones you’re worst at (i think you should be able to mark different levels on the learn page instead of the check, and have the ability to change it whenever you like). the quizzes are great the way they are but could still be a little better. all 3 would be better if the correct sound played after you picked an answer to reinforce the right answer. it’s also confusing that the find that letter and listening quizzes tell you the pronunciation underneath it, making the tests pointless because you don’t need to use your memory. the game tab is cool, no notes. lastly the audio could be actually recorded by a native speaker. i know that’s easier said than done but currently the sound of every letter is a text-to-speech bot that gets cut off abruptly and doesn’t even always play the first time you click it and it just sounds bad.
