Dividing Plate Generator

Dividing plates are used with indexing heads to precisely divide a circle for machining tasks like cutting gear teeth or drilling bolt-hole patterns. This app generates full‑scale dividing-plate templates (SVG or PDF) that you can print as drilling guides.

Full-scale templates: Generate SVG or PDF templates of your dividing-plate design. Configure the plate outer diameter, center hole, mounting holes, ring margins and hole counts. Use custom values or presets for hole counts per ring.

Custom geometry: Enter plate dimensions and hole sizes in inches or millimeters. Include optional 3–6 mounting holes on a specified bolt circle. Preview inner/outer ring margins and indexing hole diameters as you edit.

Live preview: See a real-time on-screen preview of the plate drawing. Pinch to zoom and pan to inspect details. Toggle dimension markers, concentric ring outlines and hole indicators on or off for clarity.

Export & print: Export your design as a full-scale PDF or SVG file. Print the PDF at 100% scale (no printer scaling) for an accurate drilling template. For large plates, use poster-print mode or split over pages.

Built-in calculators: Includes a bolt‑circle hole pattern calculator, a simple indexing calculator, an angle converter and a chord-length calculator. These tools help plan hole layouts and gear indexing on the fly.
