Kilona is a complete animation studio that fits in your hands. Model, rig, animate, and render professional character animation on a single device, then paint over it, cut it together, and score it, with a workflow built for artists rather than technicians.

Model Your Characters Build meshes on the canvas or import models to start from. Edit geometry vertex by vertex with extrude, subdivide, mirror, and proportional editing. Unwrap UVs with seam-based tools, and smooth your work with subdivision that keeps separate quality levels for the viewport and final renders.

Paint Directly on Your Models Texture paint on the surface in 3D or in the UV editor, with pressure-sensitive brushes, symmetry, and masking so strokes land only where you want them.

Rig with Armatures Create armatures with a full bone editor: extrude and subdivide bones, symmetrize left and right, and paint skin weights directly on the model. Capture poses to a library with thumbnails, partial poses, and one-tap mirroring. Add constraints like trackers, look-at, stretch-to, and value drivers to bring rigs to life.

Design Materials Visually Shape every surface in a node-based shader graph, compiled live on your iPad. Wire up textures, colors, math, procedural noise, and color ramps into the PBR shading node, or go fully stylized with unlit graphs. Value changes update instantly with no recompile, so look development stays fluid.

Precision Curve Editing Fine-tune every movement in the graph editor. Control timing and easing with cubic bezier handles and multiple interpolation modes. Scrub values on the keyframe toolbar, type exact numbers, and copy, paste, and align keyframes.

Scene Composition Combine multiple rigs in a single scene. Iterate with drafts, save quick selection sets, and apply saved poses as keyframes. Set custom aspect ratios, backgrounds, and any frame rate, including cinema rates like 23.976. Attach a soundtrack and hear it as you scrub.

Full Camera Control Navigate with orbital camera controls, animate position, rotation, and field of view with stepped keys for clean cuts, and switch between perspective and orthographic projection.

Ray Traced Rendering, Right on Your iPad Render with a physically based rasterizer or a full path tracer, entirely on device. Ray traced output captures soft shadows, reflections, and bounced light with adjustable samples per frame.

Draw and Composite in 2D Compositions are a full 2D studio: paint with customizable brushes, animate frame by frame on cels, and stack layers with keyframed transforms, groups, and effects. Import renders and draw right on top, with box and lasso selections to move, scale, and rotate.

Cut Video on the Timeline Arrange renders, videos, and images across lanes: trim, crossfade, change clip speed, and snap to seconds, frames, or a musical bar grid. Adjustment clips apply effects to everything beneath them, and your mix rides along in its own tab.

Mix the Soundtrack A full multitrack audio editor is built in. Record from the mic or import audio, arrange clips in lanes with fades and tempo-synced retiming, then shape the signal in a node graph of effects: EQ, filters, compression, reverb, delay, distortion, and side-chain ducking with a single wire.

Professional Export Render single frames or full sequences. Export as PNG, image sequences, or MP4 video with audio, including transparency. Support for HD, 4K, and custom resolutions.
