Features & Capabilities

Train your musical ear in minutes a day. Now with a bold new design, ear assessments, interactive theory lessons, and leaderboards.

Train your ear like a pro in just 5 minutes a day.

Coco is the ear-training studio built for serious musicians: real Grand Piano audio, seven focused games, and one score that proves you're actually improving. No browser. No laptop. Just your ears, your phone, and measurable progress.

REAL PIANO, NOT MIDI Every interval, chord, and scale is rendered live from Grand Piano samples — no synthetic loops, no compressed MIDI. The cleanest, most musical training audio on iOS.

SEVEN GAMES — ONE FOR EVERY SKILL • Sonar — pitch identification • Triad — chord quality • Climb — ascending intervals • Fall — descending intervals • Blend — harmonic intervals • Ladder — scale identification • Span — interval comparison Plus daily worldwide challenges to train against real musicians, on your schedule.

ONE SCORE THAT MEANS SOMETHING: THE COCO PERFORMANCE INDEX Stop guessing whether you're improving. CPI rolls your performance across every game into a single number — so you always know where your ear is, where it was last week, and what to train next.

DAILY WORKOUT — 5 TO 15 MINUTES Coco picks the right exercises for your level every day. "Contrast before similarity" pedagogy builds solid foundations before the hard stuff. Most musicians notice the difference within 2–3 weeks.

THEORY COURSES, BUILT IN Music Fundamentals · Scales & Keys · Intervals · Chords · Chord Progressions · Modes & Advanced Scales · Ear Training Theory — ~66 lessons, 285 slides, 70 test questions. Theory and practice stay separate, so you train exactly what you need.

WHO COCO IS FOR • Guitarists, pianists, producers, songwriters, vocalists & DJs • Self-taught players who want structure • Students prepping for aural / conservatory exams • Pros keeping their ears sharp between sessions

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Pick a game or start your Daily Workout
  2. Listen to live piano audio and answer
  3. Watch your CPI climb as your ear sharpens

"Even after just a few sessions, I can already hear the difference! The other day I was casually playing guitar, not even my main instrument, and one I've never properly studied, and for the first time I started figuring out new chords completely by ear!"

Train your ear. Trust your ear. Download Coco and start your first workout today.

It’s seems like the dev put a lot of effort into it but this seems like what someone might do if they just thought “I’m going to teach basic concepts” without any real experience training any of them. And the app makes outlandish claims like “train like a pro” but all the exercises I saw are extremely basic, especially if you’re talking a pro musicians like it claims. Then it says things like “best quality and most musical audio training on iOS”. As someone who teaches music I have tried lots of apps and yes lots of apps use really low quality audio… I was really looking forward to the audio after I read that but I wouldn’t even put the audio for this app in the top 20 probably not even top 50. And CPI means nothing to me especially with the other unsupported claims the app makes. I legitimately liked the “pitch” exercise where it gives you a pitch and then you match the frequency of the pure tone basically on a slider, it’s not something I’ve really seen before. Unfortunately, that’s where the good stuff stopped for me. And I almost forgot… $50 for a subscription. You’ve got to be joking.

Great app with a developer who genuinely cares. I had a subscription issue, reached out, and got a quick response and a fix. Don’t be afraid to contact the developer if you have a problem they’re very helpful. Also the app is very good for someone wanting to train their relative pitch, especially for someone in choir like me. I know no app is perfect and trust me when I say that 🙄but this is the best one I found so far due it’s customization. I never write reviews, but this is my first one. GO AND TRY THE APP FOR YOURSELF!!!!
