Spokn helps you move from understanding a language to using it out loud. Each week, choose the kind of practice that suits where you are now: build understanding with Beginner, or practise speaking more freely with Advanced.

HOW IT WORKS

1. A new Beginner lesson opens on Monday at 9am in your local time.
2. Listen to a short, AI-narrated story.
3. Follow the scene and read along when it helps.
4. Answer simple questions aloud.
5. Hear a natural model answer.
6. Record your responses during practice.
7. Listen back and rate each response yourself.
8. Return to useful lessons across days whenever you want more practice.

BEGINNER

Beginner is for starting from zero, or when you understand very little of the language. Lessons are short, guided, and easy to follow. Listen, read along, and answer simple questions aloud. Repeat the same lesson until the words and patterns start to feel familiar.

ADVANCED

Advanced is for learners who already understand at least half of the story and want to practise speaking more naturally. It is a longer, real-life lesson designed to help you respond aloud with less support and build confidence in situations you may actually face.

The model answers can help you notice useful pronunciation, phrasing, and rhythm. Spokn does not give automated pronunciation or fluency scores: you decide which responses felt good and which need another pass.

There is no single right way to use Spokn. Start with Beginner, repeat lessons as often as you need, and move to Advanced when you are ready to focus on speaking with more independence.

Spokn draws on TPR Storytelling (TPRS), Total Physical Response (TPR), and comprehensible input. You meet useful language in context through stories, questions, and spoken practice rather than isolated vocabulary lists.

Use inline lesson translations in 78 languages, with IPA pronunciation guidance and simple notes for words and phrases.

Free includes one Beginner lesson each week, unlimited practice. Weekly Pro includes the Advanced lesson each week, continued access to extra Beginner lessons, offline access, and all available target languages. Weekly Pro is a monthly subscription managed through the App Store.
