Bazko Learn Root Words

My 10-year-old son cannot get enough of this game! He’s learning so much, which is super fun because he’s about to start learning Latin in middle school. What a great way for him to get started! My kids are obsessed with this app, and honestly? So am I. It started as a way to help them prep for vocabulary tests, but it turned into a whole family thing. I keep finding myself going “wait, I didn’t know THAT” and I’m the adult! What makes it special is how it teaches the roots behind words, not just the words themselves. Once you understand that “astro” means stars or “geo” means earth, suddenly hundreds of words click into place. It’s a superpower for reading comprehension. We’re a multilingual household, and this app works beautifully for that. Recognizing Latin and Greek roots actually bridges across languages ,my kids can connect words in English to ones they already know in other languages. It makes everything feel less intimidating and more intuitive. Even native English speakers will be surprised by how much they don’t know they know. The quizzes are fun, the design is adorable, and the learning is genuinely lasting. Highly recommend for any parent who wants their child to not just memorize vocabulary, but truly understand it.

My elementary-aged kid is loving this app! She get’s all excited by the game aspect but is really learning - not just words but the idea that words are made up of pieces of words. It’s been a real treat to see her dive in!
