Kairos – Secure Identity Verification

Kairos is an advanced identity verification platform with APIs designed to confirm the authenticity of an individual’s identity for online activities. Identity verification is often critical and in many cases legally required for secure digital transactions, regulatory compliance, and access to sensitive services.
Kairos' research and development team has developed advanced AI algorithms to automatically perform these checks. In addition, our AIs intelligently detect fraudulent or fake identity documents and photographs.

1. Full ID Verification:

The Full Identity Verification API performs end-to-end identity verification using an identity document and a selfie image. It extracts personal information from the document and validates the user’s identity through biometric comparison.

By combining document verification and biometric verification into a single flow, this API enables comprehensive identity checks while minimizing user effort.

Customers use this API for digital onboarding and compliance workflows where both document authenticity and user presence must be verified in a single verification process.

Capabilities include: - Document Verification: Captures and verifies government-issued identity documents and detects fake or tampered documents. - Biometric Verification: Compares a live selfie with the document photo , performs liveness checks to confirm a real person, and prevents impersonation or spoofing.

1. ID Document Verification:

The ID Document Verification API verifies government-issued identity documents using OCR, MRZ scanning, and automated fraud checks in a single operation:

Supported document types include:

• Passports
• Driver’s licenses
• National ID cards
• Other official identification documents

The API extracts and validates key details such as name, date of birth, and document authenticity by allowing applications to reliably read and validate identity documents without requiring manual review.

Customers use this API when document validation is required independently, such as during document collection, pre-verification checks, or regulatory compliance processes.

1. Biometric Verification:

The Biometric Verification API performs facial comparison by matching a selfie against one or more detected faces within the uploaded image. It returns face detection results, match confidence, and selfie liveness indicators.

Biometric verification helps confirm that two images belong to the same individual, reducing the risk of identity misuse.

Customers use this API for identity confirmation, account security, and authentication workflows such as social media accounts or dating profiles, where face matching is required without document verification.

1. Liveness Verification:

The Liveness Verification API determines whether a selfie image was captured from a live person. It analyzes the image and returns face detection details along with a liveness score.

Liveness detection helps prevent spoofing attacks using photos, videos, screens, masks, or printed images, while requiring only a single selfie from the user.

Customers use this API to ensure real user presence during onboarding and authentication flows, and to securely link identity documents or biometric data to a live individual.

Open-Source Reference Implementation: This application is an open-source reference implementation provided by Kairos. It is intended for developers to test Kairos identity verification capabilities and to serve as a practical reference when implementing identity verification (IDV) workflows within their applications and systems.
