User Reviews

ColorSweeper delivers clever, Minesweeper-like puzzles with strong depth and a polished look, pleasing fans of deduction games. However, many reviews flag excessive ads and intrusive monetization after updates, which undermines the gameplay. Updates have introduced clunky UI and new features that some users dislike, and a number of players report stability issues and a lack of offline play. Overall the puzzle design and visuals shine, but monetization and update changes are driving some players away.
Pros
  • Engaging, challenging Minesweeper-inspired puzzle gameplay with a strong variety of rules
  • Polished, modern visuals and a nostalgic Minesweeper feel
  • Large, evolving puzzle set offering deep strategic variety
  • Great brain workout and replay value
  • High-quality core puzzle experience when not hindered by monetization elements
Cons
  • Ad-heavy monetization with ads after almost every level (ad tsunami)
  • Expensive or intrusive ad removal and frequent microtransactions
  • Major updates introducing clunky UI, new menus, and sticker features that disrupt flow
  • Stability and performance issues (freezes, lag, occasional crashes)
  • No offline play / always-online requirement and reliance on internet connectivity

I’m obsessed with this game. Figure out the colors of all the squares based on number clues of the matching cells around it, kind of like minesweeper. But then it keeps going, adding and subtracting extra rules: * Some rows and columns have the # of a color in them (nonagram-style) * Some rows and columns have the size of the largest run * Some numbers might lie and actually be half the value * Some cells have knights on them where only one cell can match using a knight move * Some cells have numbers but no colors * Some cells have symbolism where every matching symbol has the same pattern across the board * Some boards have four colors instead of three It gets hard. Fortunately it has a very nice “what if” mode where you can compare several different potential board configurations. Oh, and you he generate coins for hints and win puzzle piece packs to gain sticker to make little pictures. Weird side game, but it’s cute. Ad-based, but the unlock is $7 IIRC. Also three daily puzzles, easy/medium/hard. I’ve been convinced there’s no way to move forward without guessing many times. But there is a way. I think I played for 3 hours yesterday. And the day before.

Honestly a great concept, but not worth it if you don’t want to pay for ads. It gets to the point where there’s an ad after every single round, and you have to close out of the app and restart it because there’s no way to close the ad in game.

My game is stuck forcing me to both open a pack and finish a sticker at the same time. As such, I am unable to do either and the game is just stuck greyed out on the pack opening screen. I would love to play but it is currently impossible
