AI Footprint is a simple, private way to understand the estimated electricity behind your AI use. The estimates shown are approximate and meant to provide perspective, not exact or audited energy measurements. Estimates are derived from up-to-date public research on AI model efficiency and infrastructure, combined with lightweight usage signals such as token counts, images, and session activity.

Whether you use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or other AI tools, AI Footprint helps translate that activity into estimated energy use you can actually understand. You’ll see clear, real-world comparisons like microwave minutes and full phone charges.

You can open existing AI conversations inside AI Footprint and “Wattle” them to view estimated energy impact using lightweight metadata only. Conversation contents are never analyzed, stored, or transmitted. All calculations happen locally on your device.

AI Footprint also includes a Manual tab, allowing you to log AI usage that happens outside the app—such as coding assistants, image generators, or video tools. You can enter known token counts, image totals, or video duration, along with optional notes or source attribution. These entries are included in your overall totals and history.

Your estimated energy use is visualized over time through clear summaries and a small animated Wattling city that grows with usage. You can view impact by day, week, month, or all time to see how your AI habits evolve.

AI Footprint requires no account, performs all calculations on-device, and lets you clear your stored data at any time.
