MyPECaS

MyPECaS is a supportive mobile application developed as part of a research study for patients undergoing and recovering from coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. The app focuses on breathing exercises to help patients strengthen their lungs and support recovery. It features three animated videos that emphasize the importance of breathing exercises and provide clear step-by-step instructions with visuals and audio guidance. These videos are designed to complement routine hospital education. For research purposes, the app also includes self-assessment and self-reporting tools at specific intervals. These enable researchers to evaluate patients’ understanding, monitor adherence, and track progress throughout recovery. Overall, MyPECaS is a research-based tool created to empower patients in their lung recovery.
