Aica is a camera app exploring the future of photography through an AI Darkroom.

A camera, at its core, is a device that captures and records light. The history of photography is the story of continually experimenting with how light enters a device, interacts with a medium, and becomes an image.

Aica continues that evolution. Your phone becomes the viewfinder, while AI becomes the lens, sensor, and film. Instead of prompting AI to invent an image from nothing, Aica allows the AI to see what you just captured, interpret it, and recreate it purely from its understanding.

You never see the original shot—only the final result. Just like shooting film, there’s a gap between the moment you press the shutter and the image you receive. But here, that gap is filled with AI perception, hallucination, and reconstruction.
