Octodash: Octopus Agile Rates

OctoDash is a companion app for Octopus Energy customers on the Agile tariff. It shows you the half-hourly Agile electricity prices for today and tomorrow, the wind and solar behind them, what your smart meter is using and what it costs, and the cheapest time to run the EV charger, heat pump, dishwasher or washing machine.

LIVE AGILE RATES Every half-hour Agile Octopus price for today and tomorrow, colour-coded so you can tell cheap from expensive at a glance. Tomorrow's rates show up as soon as Octopus publishes them, usually around 4pm. Tap or drag across the chart and the price, time and gap to the day's average appear in a strip above the chart, not under your finger.

WIND AND SOLAR ON THE CHART Agile prices follow the weather. OctoDash draws the GB grid's wind and solar share next to your prices, so you can see why a windy night means near-free power and a still evening doesn't. There's also a price forecast for the days Octopus hasn't published yet.

LIVE USAGE FROM YOUR HOME MINI If you have an Octopus Home Mini, see what your house is drawing right now and what that costs at the current rate.

USAGE AND COSTS Your actual electricity consumption by day, week, month or year, straight from your smart meter. Cost in pounds, average unit rate, and how much of your usage landed in cheap slots versus peak.

TARIFF COMPARISON Would Intelligent Octopus Go, Flux, Cosy, Tracker or a fixed tariff have cost you less? OctoDash re-prices your real usage on any Octopus tariff, slot by slot, and fills the chart green where Agile saved you money and red where it didn't.

CHEAPEST SLOT FINDER Enter an appliance's power and how long it runs, and OctoDash picks the cheapest upcoming window and tells you what the run will cost. Save your EV, battery, tumble dryer and dishwasher so it's one tap next time.

PRICE ALERTS AND AUTOMATION Get a notification when the price drops below a level you set, or rises above one. Have OctoDash tell you when tomorrow's prices are out, send a morning brief of the day ahead, or nudge you when an appliance's cheapest slot is coming up. Prices are checked every 30 minutes in the background. Pro users can also send webhooks to IFTTT, Zapier, Home Assistant or anything else that accepts one, so devices switch on when electricity is cheap.

HOME SCREEN WIDGETS Three widget sizes keep the current rate and the next few slots on your home screen without opening the app.

SAVINGS SCORE AND ACHIEVEMENTS A weekly score shows how well you're moving usage into cheaper periods compared with the market. Badges like Going Green, Penny Pincher and Hat Trick mark the habits along the way.

AGILE STATS Average, low and high Agile prices over anything from a week to a year, so you can see where the tariff is heading.

LOOKS THE WAY YOU WANT Dark mode, light mode or follow your system. Eight accent colours. On iPad the chart and the rate table sit side by side.
