Features & Capabilities

Grow brave, kind, and ready.

I built StoriesForMe because my son couldn't handle losing. Every competition he didn't win turned into a rough night. I wanted him to hear a story about a kid just like him who got it, and figured out the next step, so I wrote one for him. Now he asks for his brave story before every game.

You tell us what your kid is working through. We write them a bedtime story starring a kid like them, finding a way through it.

Here's what you can pick from.

Fears. The dark, doctors, storms, monsters, loud noises, thunder. Big changes. Moving, a new school, a new baby, a parent traveling, a new routine. Social stuff. Making friends, sharing, feeling left out, being bullied. Losing and mistakes. Blowing a game, breaking something, falling out with a friend. Big feelings. Anger, sadness, jealousy, frustration, feeling overwhelmed.

Pick one. Your child hears a story about a kid with their name, their age, and a few traits that make them them. Warm narration. Five to fifteen minutes, depending. Works at bedtime, in the car on the way to the dentist, and in the ten minutes before the first day of anything.

Every story ends with a couple of gentle questions you can ask together if your kid wants to keep talking. "How did Emma feel when it got dark?" Stuff like that. Not a quiz.

How parents actually use it

Some come for one specific worry their kid has this week. Pick the worry, listen to the story, have a calmer bedtime.

Some are building character on purpose. We have collections around six traits: empathy, courage, kindness, grit, honesty, patience. Each collection is a set of stories that build on each other, so your kid gets a small journey instead of a one-off.

Some are bracing for a big day. First day of school, new baby, moving weekend, a sleepover. Listen to a few stories in the days leading up to it, and the thing your kid is nervous about already feels a little bit known by the time it happens.

Works with Yoto

Send any story to your child's Yoto card with one tap. Screen-free listening, wherever your kid wants to sit with it.

I’ve really enjoyed using StoriesForMe. The stories feel personal and reflect what my kids are actually going through, which keeps them engaged. What I like most is how it shows situations from a different perspective—it helps them understand their feelings and make better choices without it feeling like a lecture. It’s simple, effective, and has become part of our routine.

I originally downloaded this app to help my children cope with dad deployed. It has helped explain to him why dad isn’t home. It has also helped us with potty training 🤪

I love the customization options available in the app and the ability to tailor every story that is generated to my toddlers wild imagination. This is a very cool concept and I will be recommending it to my friends and family with small children!
