Foot Traffic Counter is a fast, accurate way to record real-world foot traffic. No extra hardware required.

The app lets anyone capture detailed movement, behaviour, and engagement in real spaces. With a clean interface and one-tap recording, you can begin a session in seconds and track exactly what you see as it happens. Every session also produces structured, research-ready data suitable for academic, commercial, and professional analysis.

Record detailed observations instantly. Switch between Observe and In Out modes with a single tap. Capture gender, age, direction, group composition, engagement, movement behaviour, pace, device use, pets, purpose, and your own custom categories. Each observation is automatically timestamped, organised, and stored on your device.

Count people moving in and out. Use the new In Out mode to track real-time flow with large, easy-to-read counters. The app automatically calculates total entering, total leaving, and “inside now” occupancy. This is ideal for retail, events, pop-up spaces, exhibitions, galleries, and hospitality.

Spot trends at a glance. Built-in charts summarise each session immediately, including traffic flow over time, gender and age distribution, group mix, purpose, engagement, and movement direction. Charts stay clean by hiding categories without enough data.

Add photos, video, or audio. Attach a photo, short video, or audio note to any observation. All media is stored at high quality and linked directly to the observation. In research exports, filenames match the observation ID so everything stays traceable.

Research-ready data exports. Choose from four export formats: Standard CSV for Excel, Google Sheets, and Numbers. JSON for technical workflows. Complete Folder Export with CSV, JSON, and all media. Research Export containing sessions.csv, observations.csv, codebook.csv, media.csv, and a correctly matched media folder. Exports work with Excel, Sheets, Numbers, Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, SPSS, Stata, R, Python, and any tool that accepts CSV or JSON. The app also distinguishes between Unknown and Not Recorded so datasets remain clean and usable.

Private and offline. Foot Traffic Counter stores all data locally on your device. There are no accounts, no uploads, and no data sharing. You choose when to export and where the files go.

Free for early adopters. Everyone who downloads during launch keeps the core tools for life. Future updates may offer optional upgrades.
