The Tao Te Ching, a philosophical work written by Laozi during the Spring and Autumn Period, also known as the Tao Te Ching, Laozi, Five Thousand Words, and Five Thousand Writings of Laozi, is a work written by ancient Chinese philosophers before the separation of their families. It is an important source of Taoist philosophical thought. According to UNESCO statistics, the Tao Te Ching is the cultural masterpiece with the highest number of translations into foreign languages after the Bible.
