The movement in the game is atrocious. Maybe actual controller support would make it better, but touch controls are bad.

I cannot stress how much I wish for diagonal controlled movement. The straight up/down/left/right feels clunky. Especially when tiny little rocks will stop you in your tracks. Some degree of instruction would also be valuable. Like, it starts you at a campfire and you can risk the dark and explore for more. But what makes more pop up? Is it time? One level I had 4 fires, and another I never got past 1. Not sure if RNG or if I am missing something. I’m intrigued, but not enough yet to spend anything. (Update) Gave a few more tries. It’s one thing to release a ‘hard’ game. It’s another to release a broken game and try to say it’s a hard when it doesn’t work. I was laughing hysterically a moment ago in a game because I cleared all the ghosts and literally every other enemy on the screen, including the boss, was stuck on rocks and forest. I love pixel games. I love rouge-likes. I love supporting indie devs. This game needs a LOT of work, and a dev responsive to feedback. I saw responses on Reddit. The four way controls are the single biggest complaint, even above the invisible barriers, but dev wants to stick with it. People give feedback to help you with your product. Sticking with a design that no one likes or wants because it makes it ‘hard’ is not a decision that will be successful for you. You have a really great start here. Take the feedback and make adjustments, and it could be a good game. As it stands now, it is not.

Fantastic horde survivor game with diagonal controls. It feels like I’m playing a reverse bullet hell on a gameboy. I like the pixel graphics, the old school feel of the controls, the different characters, and the overall challenge of the game. It gets addicting trying to reach new high scores and move up the leaderboards. The old school up down left right controls make the game feel unique to me and adds a bit to the challenge. The devs are also responsive to feedback which is always nice to see. I would recommend it to fans of the genre and for people who don’t mind the diagonal controls.
