Stop typing the same text over and over. ClipTap lets you save text templates, auto-insert dates and names, and use them anywhere via a custom keyboard and web editor.

What is ClipTap

ClipTap is a text template app that lets you save phrases you use all the time and insert them with a single tap. Email greetings, your address and phone number, estimate and invoice messages, SNS hashtags and bios – anything you keep retyping can be turned into a reusable template.

You can also use variables to partly automate your messages. System variables like {{today}} and {{now}} insert the current date and time, and Pro adds custom variables such as {{name}} or {{company}}. It is ideal when only a few parts of a message change each time.

With the ClipTap keyboard extension, you can call templates directly from Gmail, Slack, LINE, X, Instagram, your browser and many other apps.

Main features

• Keyboard extension Insert templates from the ClipTap keyboard in any app. No app-switching, no copy-and-paste loops.

• One-tap copy / one-tap insert Tap a template in the app to copy it, or tap it on the keyboard to insert it straight into the text field.

• Variables for the parts that change Use system variables for dates and times ({{today}}, {{now}}, {{year}}, etc.), and with Pro add custom variables for your own data ({{name}}, {{email}}, {{company}}, {{client}}, {{fee}}). Register this information once and reuse it across many templates.

• Environments (profiles) Create profiles like “Company A”, “Company B”, “Side business” and “Personal”. Switching profiles automatically changes company names, titles and signatures while using the same templates. Free: up to 3 profiles / Pro: unlimited.

• Web version (PC) Export your data as a .cliptap file, edit and organize templates on a PC, then import the updated file back into the app. Ideal if you write on PC but send from your phone.

• Categories & search Group templates into categories such as “Work”, “SNS”, “Freelance admin”, “Code” and “Daily life”, and find them quickly with keyword search.

• Import / export sync Export templates to a file and import them on another device. Useful when changing phones or sharing the same setup between iPhone, iPad and the web version.

Security & privacy

All templates and variable data are stored locally on your device. There is no automatic cloud sync and nothing is sent to external servers, except what is required for subscription processing. Core features work offline, so you can store text that includes client data, confidential business content or personal information.

Pro plan

Pro offers a monthly and a yearly subscription. It removes ads, unlocks unlimited profiles and unlimited custom variables, and includes all features of the free version. Payments are handled by the App Store, and you can cancel at any time; you keep Pro features until the end of the paid period.
