Review summary

The Pangenea iOS app is repeatedly unstable, with crashes and data loss, and has persistent data-sync and DNA integration issues. Users also report iPhone-specific reliability problems and limitations like no manual stat editing. A minority of reviews mention easy setup and clear result histories, but this positives are not widely echoed against the backdrop of broad reliability concerns.
Pros
  • Clear, graphical history of results with easy access to current metrics (as noted by one reviewer).
  • Android compatibility is reported as smooth by at least one user.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes, freezing, or the app not opening; requires reinstall and can result in data loss.
  • Data syncing and accuracy issues: sleep data and other readings not updating consistently, and some measurements may be off or differ from other devices.
  • DNA integration and authorization problems: difficulty linking the DNA kit, authorization issues, and related connectivity bugs.
  • iPhone-specific reliability/navigation problems: unresponsive home screen, back-navigation issues, and overall instability on iOS.
  • Inability to edit stats manually (no option to adjust values like weight).

2026-03-26 ka***** Has way too many bugs, not ready for prime time. Data not easy to track trends, presentation is awkward not on a par with other fitness apps. AI interface needs LOTS more training, some answers are nonsensical. App drops who you are and you need to create a new account every few days. No way to edit your stats - for example weight gain or loss. Good idea but so far needs way too much work to be useful. Used my cheap Fitbit as a comparison, wore both at the same time, got somewhat different results. Not sure which is more accurate, but a reminder that wearable fitness trackers are not all that accurate anyway.

2026-03-24 me***** Ever since the update to the new app. The app hasn’t even worked. I paid too much money for this not to work. Also, the app is frozen now and has been for over a week. Whenever I refresh, I lose all sleep data and everything else. This app needs to be fixed very soon!

2026-03-20 Re***** What a ripoff this ring is along with the. Total Junk! Works whenever it wants. Oxygen level reads low most of the time. All readings are off and don’t update.
