Features & Capabilities

MathNet is adaptive math practice that meets students where they are and grows with them. Five categories — Basic Arithmetic, Number Sense, Addition & Subtraction, Multiplication, and Long Division — each with their own ladder of problem types that unlock as a student demonstrates proficiency.

WHY STUDENTS STICK WITH IT

Sessions are open-ended. No fixed question count, no looming timer. A student practices for as long as they like, then taps End Session. Every correct answer earns points based on difficulty and speed. Harder problems pay meaningfully more. Lightning-fast correct answers double the points. There's always something to chase.

PROFICIENCY-BASED PROGRESSION

Each problem type tracks the last 30 results. As a student's accuracy and speed improve, the type advances through six levels: Locked, Learning, Practicing, Proficient, Skilled, and Mastered. Reaching Proficient unlocks the next type in the ladder — so a student who's nailed 2-digit subtraction starts seeing 3-digit problems automatically. No settings to change.

For students already comfortable with a type, the quick-competence shortcut moves them along after a few correct answers, so they don't have to grind through 30 problems to prove what they already know.

TWO LEARNING MODES

Learn Mode is untimed practice. After each problem you see the correct answer — with the work shown for long-form problems — so you can see where you went off. No scoring.

Quiz Mode is the scoring mode, with points and proficiency progression.

INTERACTIVE EXAMPLES

Every category includes step-by-step walkthroughs with user-controlled progression. Tap through the carries on a 4-digit subtraction. Watch partial products build up on a long multiplication. Follow the step work of a long division problem one row at a time.

OPTIONAL REWARDS

The reward system is off by default. When enabled, points can be exchanged for credits, and credits can be redeemed via a webhook you configure. Plug it into Home Assistant to unlock screen time. Send a Slack message to a parent or teacher. Trigger an IFTTT flow. The webhook URL is yours; MathNet doesn't operate any servers and never sees the data.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

• No accounts. MathNet uses iCloud for sync. • No tracking. No advertising. No third-party analytics SDKs. • No MathNet servers. Your data lives in your private iCloud database. • The reward webhook is optional and goes directly from your device to the URL you configured.

UNIVERSAL APP

Works on iPhone and iPad. iCloud syncs progress across all your devices automatically.

FOR EVERY AGE

MathNet is designed for elementary-school math practice, but it works just as well for older students and adults brushing up on arithmetic, building speed, or working through long-division mechanics they haven't touched in years. The proficiency system meets you wherever you are.
