BonzAI is one of the most promising local AI agent apps I’ve tested on iPhone. I’m using it on iPhone 16 Pro with Qwen 3.5 2B. Built-in Web Search works well and can finish the full search-to-answer flow. But custom MCP search tools like Exa and Tavily don’t complete the loop for me. The connection verifies, the tool returns results, but the assistant often stops there and does not write the final answer. If this MCP issue is fixed, I’d be happy to update my rating to five stars.

I have tried countless apps in the app store to find one that lets me use Prism ML’s Bonzai with full web access. Im not sure what sort of dark magic this app is using, but the quality of the web searches and the flawless integration of my beloved Bonzai 8B has currently replaced my entire habit of going to Google for web searches. This has replaced the need for Google web search, GPT for random questions, and sometimes even shopping. The weather and clock features are excellent too. Simply asking my model about my location’s weather gives highly accurate pulls every time (with the right settings and setup of course). As far as integration goes, I have yet to find an app that is compatible with Bonsai (fully) AND uses the correct settings its makers recommended + full web search and much more.
