User Reviews

Users praise the app for stamp identification and organization, with broad international coverage and easy navigation. However, reviews repeatedly cite unreliable valuations, inconsistent identifications, limited data management (no export or sort), image quality issues, and single-stamp scanning. Subscriptions are often questioned due to these reliability concerns. Overall, PhilSnap is useful for cataloging and learning about stamps, but its accuracy and feature set need substantial improvement.
Pros
  • Good stamp identification with helpful background information.
  • Helps organize and catalog stamps effectively.
  • Easy to use and navigate.
  • Broad catalog coverage across foreign and U.S. stamps, including older issues.
Cons
  • Valuations are inconsistent and often inaccurate; same stamp can yield very different prices on repeated scans.
• Lacks export or sharing options and general data management features (no export, no sorting, no way to download or print the collection).
  • Image capture issues: blurry photos, no cropping/framing controls, reducing identification accuracy.
  • Only supports single-stamp scanning, not batch/page scanning as shown in videos.
  • Paid subscription may not be worth it given data quality and reliability concerns.

I was using this app with the total confidence until it started giving me completely different identities for the same stamp. Crossed referenced with other research and neither of the identities were accurate! Complete waste of time!

Many stamps that are in mint condition are rated as used and good condition. Corrections need to be made constantly and those do not seem to register to the stamps. Need to be able to assign stamps to collections or classes on the fly. It will be really inconvenient to go back thru after photographing 1000s of stamps to reclass or assign to country collections.

It seems to be giving just general ideas and prices. Nothing special doesn’t tell you any of the specialty stamps.
